Sungkyunkwan University’s baseball team defeated Yeungnam University team (hereafter YU) at the finals and became champions of the university tournament. SKKU has become a champion for two consecutive years.
The final game took place at Suncheon on August 29th. SKKU defeated YU by 3-2.
SKKU took its first point in the second inning and led the game by 2-0. YU came back in the third inning making the game score even by 2-2. SKKU hit a solo home-run in the fourth inning and kept the lead until the end of the game.
SKKU coach Yeonsoo LEE expressed, “The team did a good job. It’s meaningful that we won the tournament two years in a row. We aim to succeed in the coming 2019 U-League and national sports festival as well.”
SKKU has also taken the MVP award, distinguished play award, best pitcher award and best coach award.
