SKKU Ranks No.1 in Employability
SKKU is continuously ranked No.1 in employability among the major universities in Seoul. According to “Higher Education in Korea”, a website providing key information about universities, SKKU’s graduate employability was 77%, which is the highest out of the 15 major universities in Seoul.
The 15 major universities in Seoul are Sungkyunkwan University, Konkuk University, Kyung Hee University, Korea University, Dongguk University, Sogang University, Seoul National University, University of Seoul, Sookmyung University, Yonsei University, Ewha University, Chuang-Ang University, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Hanyang University, and Hongik University.
It was reported that 2,470 out of 3,077 graduates at SKKU successfully gained employment in 2018. Hanyang University had the second highest employability rate after SKKU with 73.4%. Next was Sogang University (70.4%), Korea University (70.3%), Seoul National University (70.1%), and Yonsei University (70.1%).
A staff member from the Korea Council for University Education said, “While the overall graduate employability rate went up in 2018, there is a larger gap in relation to different universities, regions, and genders.” This year, there is a 3.6% bigger gap between men and women with regard to the employability rate.
