SKKU Extension School Opens AI Course on Coursera

SKKU Extension School opens the artificial intelligence course in Korean language for the first time on Coursera, the world’s largest MOOC platform. Coursera, founded in 2012, signed a partnership agreement with SKKU early last year and has been strengthening cooperation with our university.

The ‘Fundamentals of CNNs and RNNs course’ is a self-paced learning lecture designed to learn the structure and latest trends of CNNs and RNNs which are the foundation of AI learning. This lecture was conducted by Prof. Jihyung Lee (Dean of Dept. of Artificial Intelligence). Prof. Lee has conducted AI education programs for employees of Samsung SDS and LG Electronics. It is expected to meet the needs of domestic learners of Coursera, who had to take English classes due to the lack of AI educational content in Korean language.

If a student completes this course focused on CNNs and RNNs and hope to learn more, one can use the platform, developed by SKKU Extension School, to learn the entire course of Deep Learning (25 weeks/12 hours) and Machine Learning (58 weeks/17 hours) conducted by Prof. Jongwook Lee (College of Computing and Informatics).

In addition, student who have successfully completed the practice and project under professor’s guide after completing the lecture will be awarded SKKU’s Kingo degree.
