2023 Book Picnic event of first semester will be held

-from April 26th to 28th for 3 days at the Natural Science Campus.

- Cultural events such as reading, culture, busking, and exhibitions will also be held together

Cultural events such as reading, culture, busking, and exhibitions will also be held together. SKKU Library (Director Hyeong-gi Cho) announced that the Book Picnic event will be held in front of the Samsung Library on the grass lawn at the Natural Science Campus from April 26th (Wednesday) to 28th (Friday).

At the event, more than 500 recommended books from the library can be borrowed and returned, and picnic items (camping wagons, board games, mats, folding chairs, etc.) and snacks will be provided.

The event will be operated in three zones (reading, culture, busking & exhibition). The Reading Zone will have tents, hammocks, beanbags, and reading tables set up to create a relaxed outdoor reading environment. The Culture Zone will have various activities such as book donation events and exhibitions of books by student writers from Sungkyunkwan University. The Busking & Exhibition Zone will provide opportunities to watch busking performances and exhibitions by a total of 11 student clubs.

This year's Book Picnic event is a "student participation" event planned and organized by the school and students together. It is expected that the participation of the SKKUP and the SKKLUB in the planning process will gather student opinions and reflect them in the event operation, thereby increasing student satisfaction.

A related official said, "We have organized this event to encourage a culture of reading in daily life," and "We hope that through the Book Picnic, members of the campus will enjoy diverse experiences and relaxation through books."

Meanwhile, the Book Picnic event started in 2019 and has become a regular event every semester, and it is scheduled to be held again in October at the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus and the Natural Science Campus.
