College of Education made a splendid achievement of being selected for external projects

  • - Two projects selected for Academic Support Project in humanities and social sciences (September)
  • - Selected as a participating university in the field of artificial intelligence of the Digital Innovation Sharing University Project (May)
  • - Selected for AI Learning Reinforcement Project at Teacher’s Training College (May)

Lately, College of Education at SKKU (Dean: Jae-Hyun Kim) has made a splendid achievement of being selected for external projects. In May 2021, it was selected as the participating university in the field of artificial intelligence in the Digital Innovation Sharing University Project and selected for the AI Learning Reinforcement Project at Teacher’s Training College. In September 2021, two projects were selected for Academic Support Project which is supported by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea.


In May, it was selected for the participating university in the AI field of the “Digital Innovation Sharing University Project (it is called a new task of the Korean version of the New Deal, jointly utilizes educational resources in the field of new technologies scattered across universities and builds a cooperative system to foster core talents at the national level)” and receives 1.4 billion won (8.4 billion won for six years). It also receives 200 million won per year (600 million won for three years) as it was selected for AI Learning Reinforcement Project at Teacher’s Training College.


In September, the project titled, “A study on Changes in Private Tutoring and Policy Countermeasures due to COVID-19”, of Private Tutoring Innovation Education and Research Center (Director/Professor Jae-Bong Yoo) was selected for Academic Support Project and it will receive 2.6 billion won per year (15.6 billion won for 6 years). It also plans to work closely with the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea and carries out the project as an international research hub center for 6 years.


In addition, the project titled, “Prevention and Intervention of youth self-harm and suicide: Establishment of a Korean-style biopsychological pathway model for AI-based Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) application development”, led by Dong-Hoon Lee, a professor of Education, and will receive a total of 5.5 billion won for three years.


Jae-Hyun Kim, Dean of College of Education said, “By carrying out the projects we won, we will do our best to lay the foundation for fostering educational experts in the Fourth Industrial Era and help the College of Education play a central role in the future educational innovation.”
