Prof. Tae Hee Kim (Dean of the Department of Sport Interaction Science) was awarded a commendation by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for her contribution to the development of the sports industry and sports.

In 2019, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism selected the SKKU Department of Sport Interaction Science and POSTECH Global Sports AIX for the Sports Convergence Graduate School project, which is a project to nurture future key talents in the field of sports convergence through the operation of a multidisciplinary curriculum.

Prof. Kim served as the Dean of the Department of Sport Interaction Science and was highly praised for her contribution to fostering professionals for the development of the sports convergence industry by successfully operating a sports interaction science curriculum that combines computer science, software, design, and social science based on sports science. In addition, on Nov. 19, the 2022 International Forum for Sports Convergence was held at the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center, announcing the ‘Disruptive Innovation in Emerging Sport Science and Technology’ and sharing their achievements.

Prof. Kim said, “Recently, convergence education is key not only in sports science but also in all academic fields, but the process is not easy. Thank you to the president, professors, and SKKU for helping me to break the existing frame and create something new that did not exist in the existing structure.”
