Prof. Sungho Hwang and Prof. Junhyun Park, Won Korean Society for Engineering Education Award
Prof. Sungho Hwang and Prof. Junhyun Park of Mechanical Engineering received “2020 Female Students’ Engineering Educator Award” and “2020 Best Lecturer Award” by the Korean Society for Engineering Education. Due to the Covid-19, only the award-winners attended the award ceremony on September 17 (Thur).
Prof. Sungho Hwang was credited with establishing and operating a smart car convergence education platform “SMART-School”, as the director of the Women in Engineering-Undergraduate Leading Program (WE-UP) for women’s engineering talents and pioneering the careers of female students in the field of smart cars. This field is considered as where women can exercise their strengths, and the “SMART-School”, which began in 2016 is an excellent educational platform that has responded preemptively to the needs of industry.
Prof. Junhyun Park was credited with his effort to help students effectively carry out self-directed learning by developing and applying teaching method, “Flipped Class”, in engineering mathematics classes. His lectures have received a positive response from students and the evaluations were over 95 out of 100 every semester. Also, he has consistently contributed to the development and spread of teaching methods by presenting the applied cases of new teaching methods to other professors.
