AI R&D Grand Challenge is a competition contest where participants try to develop an algorithm for a given problem. This year’s contest was the first round contest and it will continue until fourth round, which will be at 2022. 617 people in 121 team from universities, labs and companies joined this year’s contest and 3 teams were chosen from each track. Prof. KO’s team joined the auditory cognition track, which was to discover the original source of a person’s call for help in middle of a noise. The team competed against laboratory and company teams and came in 3^rd among 33 teams.
