Special lecture how to write a thesis in English is hold on 10/28

The Samsung Library plans to provide a special lecture on how to write a thesis in English for graduate students as follows. This special lecture is the third time after we had once in last year’s October. The lecture will be conducted with different topics and online for 2 hours in English as a special lecture that will help you write an English essay for submission to an international journal. All interested graduate students are welcome to participate.

 A. How to prepare your academic manuscript for journal publication (50 mins)
   - Basic structure of an academic manuscript: IMRD (Introduction – Method – Result – Discussion)
   - What authors should focus on each part of a manuscript
   - Basic tips for writing a title
   - Choosing keywords
   - Useful expressions for each part of a manuscript
   - Verb tenses
   - Basic tips to prepare the literature review
 B. How to paraphrase a sentence (50 mins)
   - Definition of paraphrasing
   - How to paraphrase a sentence effectively
   - Ethical concerns of paraphrasing
   - Different structures of a sentence
   - Voice in scientific writing
   - Danger signs of poor paraphrasing
