University College was launched in 2005 to systematically promote general and basic education and to support freshmen adjust to university life. University College directs liberal arts education in SKKU and realizes a 21st century learning community by providing academic and university life guidance to freshmen students, before choosing their major.
College of Confucian Studies and Eastern Philosophy
The College of Confucian Studies & Eastern Philosophy is one of SKKU’s most important assets. The founding philosophy of the school serves as the moral backbone for the university community.
College of Liberal Arts
The College of Liberal Arts, formerly the College of Humanities, was co-founded with the establishment of the modern SKKU in 1946. As the center of liberal arts and humanity education, the college is dedicated to delivering an outstanding academic experience.
College of Social Sciences
The College of Social Sciences was established to contribute to the nation and society by cultivating global citizens with democratic ethics and the academic competence to be leaders in their fields.
College of Economics
The College of Economics has faculty members who provide excellent education to students while leading influential research in domestic and international academic and fields. In addition, it is working hard for the future of Korea by generating highly qualified graduates.
School of Business
The School of Business is a large organization with EMBA and IMBA programs as well as BA programs in the School of Business Administration and Global Business Administration. Many business leaders, professors, executives, and management specialists have graduated from the school.
College of Education
The College of Education was founded in 1972. It has inherited the tradition and spirit of Sungkyunkwan since it was founded in 1398. It has contributed to Korean education and national development by leading the field of education research as well as by cultivating good secondary school teachers and educators over the past 40 years.
College of Science
The College of Science is one of the fastest growing universities colleges in the field of basic science in Korea. It has a special educational program that adopts innovative and original teaching methods to cultivate excellent scientific talents and produce global scientists.
College of Information and Communication Engineering
To respond to the ever-changing needs in the national informatization and the ICT industry, the College of Information and Communication Engineering runs various research and educational programs to foster and develop ICT professionals, leveraging its outstanding faculty and state-of-the-art facilities.
College of Computing and Informatics
The College of Computing and Informatics has outstanding faculty and state-of-the-art facility as well as equipment for hands-on experience, which is used for the best-in-class education and research in Korea. In addition to education on basic science and engineering, which serve as the foundation for Software, Industry-University programs are offered to improve application capability and job skills. Also, international programs are in place to provide the aspiring students with the opportunity to become creative global leaders.
College of Engineering
The Mission of the College of Engineering is to expand education as well as research programs in a complementary approach. In this manner, we aim to respond to the demands of society and the ever changing pace of technology in the knowledge and information era. With a wide range of research activities maintained in the engineering college, department and the associated research institutes in areas of applied science, we believe we are uniquely capable of providing such services.
School of Pharmacy
The School of Pharmacy was established in 1953 and has provided top-class pharmaceutical education in Korea ever since. Approximately six thousand of the school’s alumni are working in community pharmacies and hospitals as pharmacists, pharmaceutical and other related companies as research scientists, and in government agencies. Many pharmacists and researchers who graduated from the school are actively contributing to the nation’s health care policy and developing new pharmaceuticals for the well-being of man-kind.
College of Biotechnology and Bioengineering
In the 21st century, Bioengineering Technology (BT) is an important national growth engine field along with IT and nanotechnology (NT). The College of Biotechnology and Bioengineering has educational programs that train students through a combination of BT, IT, and NT. The college aims to foster global leaders with creativity and innovation based on the educational ideology of the academic community.
College of Sport Science
The College of Sport Science aims to foster future talents who can actively cope with rapidly changing social and personal living conditions. With the belief that a healthy society can be realized through people with healthy bodies and minds, the college is focused on developing future sports leaders with wisdom and virtue.
School of Medicine
The School of Medicine was established in 1997. The school aims to educate doctors who can provide the best treatment for patients, to design creative research projects, and to serve the community with social responsibility. The School of Medicine provides students with a one-on-one intensive learning environment along with the state-of-the-art clinical training facilities. Top-tier faculty members and training hospitals enable students to become competent medical scientists in the era of artificial intelligence. SKKU School of Medicine also has three training hospitals where the students can receive high quality clinical education throughout their curriculum. Despite its short history, SKKU School of Medicine now stands as the one of the top medical schools in Korea, and aims to become one of the leading medical schools in the world.
