Professor Kim Inki from the Department of Biophysics awarded the Young Optics Scientist Award by the Korean Optical Society

Professor Kim Inki from the Department of Biophysics was awarded the Young Photonics Scientist Award at the 35th Annual Meeting of the Korean Optical Society and the 2024 Winter Academic Conference held from February 14th to 16th. The Young Photonics Scientist Award is given to researchers under the age of 35 who are recognized for their outstanding research achievements and potential in the field of optics.

Professor Kim Inki, who received his doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering from POSTECH and joined Sungkyunkwan University in 2021, has been actively conducting research in the fields of nanophotonics and metamaterials. He has been recognized for his excellent research achievements in the fields of metasurface-based planar optics, biophotonics, and nanolithography, leading to his winning the Young Photonics Scientist Award.

Established in 1989, the Korean Optical Society boasts a membership of over 9,700 members who engage in exchanges and activities. It is the most influential international academic organization in the field of optics in Korea. The academic conferences held annually by the Korean Optical Society provide a platform for researchers to present the latest research findings and share research trends in nine divisions including optics, optical technology, digital holography and information science, quantum electronics, photonics, biophotonics, displays, quantum optics and quantum information, and lithography.
