Overview
The Exchange Student Program(ESP) is designed for international students from partner universities.
SKKU welcomes students from around the world to a challenging academic and unique cultural experience at its campus where traditional and contemporary features are beautifully harmonized.
SKKU is ready to meet international students’ academic needs by providing interesting and enlightening courses, along with various intriguing activities where they can experience Korea’s culture and history.
The Visiting Student Program (VSP) is aimed at recruiting outstanding students from overseas universities not partnered with SKKU.
Visiting students have the chance to experience fruitful campus life at SKKU with other domestic and international students.
With more than 600 years of history and a unique culture, SKKU provides not only high-quality courses delivered by eminent professors and lecturers,
but also a unique campus ambience that you cannot find at other universities in Korea. Both Korean students studying at foreign universities and international students are welcome to apply for the program.
Visiting students are given the same status as exchange students except for that tuition waivers are not provided to visiting students.
Tuition is about 4,000 USD per semester, and it varies depending on a student’s major and level of study.
SKKU’s Office of International Relations (OIR) is the primary office responsible for the exchange program. In order to provide a well-organized academic experience to exchange students from partner universities, the OIR:
- Helps exchange students in the application process with visa application, online application, etc.
- Supplies course information, and helps students select and sign up for courses
- Organizes a special orientation and cultural/group activities in collaboration with GSN HI-CLUB
- Takes care of students’ everyday inquiries and requests
- Sends academic transcripts to exchange students’ home universities after they complete exchange study
Exchange Student Orientation and Cultural Activities
SKKU offers exchange students an orientation session to help them adapt to the new environment. During the orientation session, students receive valuable information and insights needed for both academic and everyday life at SKKU. The main issues discussed are: academic issues, course information and registration, the housing plan and policies, and visa-related matters. This is followed by a brief campus tour and a reception where students have a chance to get to know each other. SKKU’s Office of International Relations also organizes cultural activities and social events for all exchange students. Through these events SKKU aims to increase its students’ sense of globalization and multicultural understanding.
