Sungkyun International Solar Forum
May31~June1

* The Second Sungkyun International Solar Forum held on May 31~June 1
* International scholars including the first developer of Dye-sensitized solar cells invited to speak
* Sungkyunkwan University leads development of next-generation solar cell research.

Sungkyunkwan University (President Jun-Young Kim) invited scholars internationally renowned in the field of nano-solar cells including Professor Michael Gratzel, Professor Anders Hagfeldt, Ph.D Gang Li, etc. They will attend "The 2nd Sungkyun International Solar Forum" held under the them of nano solar cell technologies on May 31 to June 1 in the 'Jo Byeong Du International Hall', 600th Anniversary Memorial Hall, Humanities and Social campus (Seoul).

To increase the level of domestic solar cell technology and identify trends in international research, 'Sungkyun International Solar Forum’ was held for the first time in 2011. In the second forum, a total of 21 experts including a group of 10 researchers and 11 internationally renown scholars will present the latest findings, under the topic of dye-sensitized fusion of nanotechnology and solar cell technology, Organic thin film and quantum dots solar cells.

This forum will provide a central ground for discussion on research by international scholars from 7 countries including Prof. Michael Gratzel from Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, who developed the dye-sensitized solar cells.

It is believed that solar cell, which is technology converting energy from the light of the sun to battery energy, is the only alternative energy for the future of mankind.

President of Sungkyunkwan University Jun-Young Kim said that this is the first forum, in which SKKU invited all 11 international scholars of particular study. In addition, he said that “as Sungkyunkwan University leads development of the next-generation solar cell research, we expect that this second forum will be
