SKKU AEAS Appoints Walraven As Chair-professor
- A Dutch scholar born in America..Pioneer of Korean Studies in Europe
Professor Boudewjin C. A. Walraven (65), who teaches Korean Studies at Holland Lieden University, Netherlands, who’s achievements are worthy of close attention in the field of International Korean Studies, has been appointed as a chair-professor in the Academy of East Asian Studies (AEAS, Director, Seung Woon Shin), SungKyunKwan University (SKKU).
On October 10 (Wed), Director Seung Woon Shin stated that “Professor Walraven; who has a lot of accomplishment in the field of Korean Studies including Shamanism, also the editor-in-chief of the ‘Sungkyun Journal of East Asian Studies’ which is a biannual English journal on Korean Studies; has been invited to be the chair-professor as of September 1.” Director Shin added that “Though Walraven’s period of appointment is 2 years, it is open to extension.”
