Prof. Han, Jeungwhan from Sungkyunkwan University’s (SKKU) Dept. of Medicine and Dr. Lee, Sangha had their research paper placed on the cover of the May issue of ‘Molecular Cell’, a renowned journal in the cell biology field.
This research paper describes how the intercellular signaling messenger, S96K1, which is activated from energy stimulation, induces obesity. The research result implies that obesity can be treated through finding the connection between signaling pathways and transformational epigenetics.
Prof. Han said “When it comes to developing diet pills, it is quite important to reveal the division mechanism of a fat cell. This research presents a new clue for developing obesity pills.”
