SKKU’s Research & Business Foundation received the highest grade of ‘S’ in 2016 for their research fund administrative system, monitored by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning. Out of 176 universities who applied for the evaluation, only 2 universities received the ‘S grade’ including SKKU.
The research fund administrative system is conducted in order to increase research administrative capabilities, transparency, and effectiveness of universities in Korea and non-profit organizations.
By being presented with an ‘S grade’, SKKU will receive an incentive of 2% indirect cost, detailed adjustment exemption on national R&D research funds, and application qualification given as an integrated institution for student expenses. Also after receiving a certificate from the minister of the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning and the related promotional work, SKKU is expected to be recognized as the best institution for the research fund administrative system.
Ji Beom YOO, the Vice-President of SKKU and the chair of SKKU’s Research & Business Foundation said, “This result is from our efforts to improve policies for supporting researchers and providing an environment where researchers can focus on their studies.”
Meanwhile, the award ceremony conducted by the minister of the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning was held on Dec 28th (Wed).
