SKKU’s counseling center (Director: Dong Hun LEE) received the ‘Best Award’ at the evaluation of counseling service, which was organized by 2016 National Council for University Student Life Counseling Center.

Through the recent renovation and the development of an internship program, SKKU’s counseling center made great efforts in order to encourage more students to use the center under a pleasant environment. With great support from SKKU and its individual efforts, the center achieved many outstanding results such as; the waiting time for counseling has decreased from 32 weeks (longest) to 1~2 weeks, newly registered students and the average number of students who visited the counseling center has increased 5 times and 2 times respectively.

Furthermore, in order to create an organized counseling system, various systems such as case assignment and student counseling integration DB were developed. In particular, the center developed ‘One-Stop Counseling Center’ with the aim to support students to find their potential and self-realization beyond their personality, personal relations, academics, and emotional status.

The center also provides the counseling services for foreign students who find campus life difficult due to cultural differences and language barriers. For international students’ convenience, the center created an English homepage, as well as provided a Kingo road map.

Dong Hoon LEE, the director of the counseling center said, “I hope every student of SKKU is happy. Many students often feel insecure and have lots of stress because this time is a period of transition where life is still incomplete. Do not hold difficulties on your own. I highly advise students to come to the counseling center and talk with experts.”
