Mr. Umran Inan, the President of Koç University in Turkey visited SKKU on March 14th and met with SKKU’s President Mr. Kyu Sang CHUNG, the Vice President of Natural Sciences Campus Mr. Ji Beom YOO, and the Vice President of International Affairs Mr. Ja Choon KOO, in order to share opinions on bilateral exchange cooperation.
Koç University is a private institution founded in 1993. It has become one of the most prestigious universities in Turkey and placed high in rankings in various university evaluations. The majority of classes (over 90%) at Koç University are taught in English.
At the meeting, President Umran Ianan suggested developing bilateral ties between SKKU and Koç University throughout joint-researches and joint-forums in various fields, including architecture and bio-medical, based on the similarities of the two universities such as research-oriented institutions, receiving tremendous supports from university foundation, and having a high standard of departments including medicine schools.
President Kyu Sang CHUNG thereupon proposed more active cooperation including the agreement of student exchanges in the near future. From this meeting, the ties between Koç University and SKKU are expected to develop further.
