International Data Week 2021, University's Collaboration Determined
- Extension of social contribution through reserach data sharing and usage -
This university will hold International Data Week 2021 (also known as IDW 2021), the largest global conference for research data sharing and usage with KISTI (Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information), and KRISS (Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science).
IDW, which is collaborating with various organizations related to research data (CODATA, RDA, WDS etc.), have opened twice since 2016 in Denver, USA and 2018 in Botswana, Gaborone. The IDW in 2021 that will be co-managed by our university will be held in 2021 November 8th to 11th in Seoul Dragon City Hotel.
This round’s IDW in 2021 will be about data sharing and re-usage to expedite the development of global infrastructure. Collaboration will occur with International General Assembly, RDA Plenary Meeting and SciDataCon 2021 where various issues related to research data will also be discussed.
In this conference, a discussion will be held regarding data innovation ecosystem as a result of new scientific discovery and social contribution made by data sharing and usage with recent data centered research paradigm.
