Presidents of Swedish Universities Visit SKKU

On November 7, 2012, Presidents of Swedish Universities, parties of The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Science (IVA), and parties of The Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT) visited Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU). This group included presidents from 10 Swedish universities, Director of Swedish National Agency for Higher Education, Secretary General of the IVA, and Secretary General of STINT.

During this visit, organized for the mutual cooperation of Korea-Sweden higher education, the visiting party met with SKKU’s teaching staff including President of Jun-Young Kim, Vice Presidents of Suwon and Seoul Campus, Vice President of Office of International Affair, Dean of College of Science, Dean of College of Information and Communication Engineering, and Dean of College of Engineering. They received an introductory presentation about SKKU’s internationalization strategy and academic-industrial cooperation, and shared various opinions on ways of promoting higher education and research cooperation.

The visiting party was astonished by SKKU’s rich history, enthusiastic internationalization, active academic-industrial cooperation program, and wished to expand effective exchanges between Swedish Universities and SKKU by strengthening current relationship. Both parties agreed to cooperate continually in the administration of future research cooperation of academic-industrial programs.
