KANEKA/SKKU Incubation Center International Symposium 2013 2013.05.30

 The KANEKA/SKKU Incubation Center at Sungkyunkwan university will hold the third international symposium at the Samsung Library Auditorium on June 21. The Incubation Center has been established in 2010 with a financial support from Kaneka, a big chemical company in Japan, to develop new technologies on electronic materials and processes in cooperation with professors in SKKU. At this moment, the cooperative research focuses on mainly energy and display related materials. The center is holding an international symposium every year in SKKU campus with world-renowned professors and researchers. This year's symposium will invite 9 famous speakers from Korea, Japan, and United States.

 Prof. Sun Wook (손욱); ex-President of SAIT will give us the plenary talk. We expect him to talk interesting stories on history of Samsung's business, as he had worked directly for the 2nd Generation President of Samsung Co.; Lee Kun-hee (이건희회장) for a while.

 Prof. Souk Jun-hyung (석준형) is also very famous engineer in display technology and contributed to establish the top market share in the world for Samsung’s LCD business, as CTO of Samsung Electronics Company. And other Korean invited professors are Kwanghee Lee of GIST and Seunghyun Baik of SKKU. Professor Baik will give us recent results on stretchable materials and devices.

 Prof. David J. Pine is invited from New York university, USA and Profs. Junji Watanabe of TIT, Shu Seki of Osaka univ., Hiroki Sakaguchi of Tottori univ., and Dr. Masataka Hasegawa of AIST are invited from Japan. They are all very famous researchers in their own areas. Dr. Masataka Hasegawa will talk on roll to roll graphene production and Professor Sakaguchi on new anode for Li-ion battery.
